Washington Square Park

This 1,900 square foot open space public park is a Greenwich Village landmark. Dominated by the Washington Arch, the Park’s fountain has long been a New York city hotspot for both residents and tourists.


Founded in 1831, New York University (NYU) is one of the largest private nonprofit institutions of American higher education. The Broadway campus maintains a young, collegiate vibe year round. Although geared mainly toward student use, the school’s various libraries are accessible to the public.

The Cooper Union

The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art is a privately funded college in the East Village located at Cooper Square and Astor Place. Offering a full-tuition scholarship to every admitted student, it’s one of the most selective colleges in the United States.

Whole Foods

This 71,000 square foot location of this natural and organic supermarket chain opened its doors in early 2007, earning its place as New York city’s largest grocery store. The spacious store sells only products that meet its self-created quality standards for being natural, which the store defines as: minimally processed foods that are free of hydrogenated fats as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners and preservatives.

New Museum

Founded in 1977, the New Museum is a leading destination for new art and ideas. It is Manhattan’s only dedicated contemporary art museum and is respected internationally for the adventurousness and global scope of its curatorial program. The New Museum building is intended as a home for contemporary art and an incubator for new ideas, as well as an architectural contribution to New York’s urban landscape.

St. Marks Place

Located in the East Village, historic Saint Mark’s Place features a wide variety of retailers. Gem Spa, Yaffa Café, The St. Mark’s Hotel, St. Mark’s Comics and Trash & Vaudeville line this shopping mecca and there are several open front markets offering sunglasses, clothing and jewelry. A number of restaurants and bars are featured here as well, along with several famous record stores.
